In the mist and fog and silence, there is a cave. There is darkness within darkness there and nothing more and the faint whiff of something ... not right.

But there's a drawing stuck to the rocks that frame the opening, a childish grouping of trees and a tall, thin man, with the words TAMAN SHUD.

"I think we should go here," says Jack.

Low, mocking laughter echoes from the cold stone of the cave walls.


He is nowhere to be seen.

sees all

Nothing is.

Upon hearing the laughter Dani's expression darkens, and one hand clenches into a fist.

"We're coming for you, you sick freak," she mutters under her breath.

Enzo glowers along with her, and flexes his hands in the Ghost Gauntlets.

They head further into the dark.

It is easy to lose track of how far the cave extends. Sounds bounce back at unexpected angles, some dying suddenly others continuing long past when they should have faded.

It is there a small lump shivers. Scrapes show on his arms and legs. Raw skin peeks through rips in both shorts and blouse. His blond hair is tousled and filled with grit.

Momiji is crying.

"There! Dani, give us some more light!"

Dani obliges, summoning some ecto-energy.

"Aw, spam... Momiji!" Enzo rushes to his side.

[zodiac_rabbit]

Momiji picks up his head, revealing the leather ties around his ankles and wrists. Tear channels show cleanly through the dirt on his face.

"Enzo...?"

[a1enzo]

Enzo draws his sword again and kneels down to carefully slice through the leather. "Do you believe me now?"

It's a sad song that begins to quietly echo in the cave.
A sad song that slowly increases in volume.

Momiji rubs his wrists, and then wipes his eyes.

"I swear, I tried really hard not to go. I couldn't help it.". Fresh tears stream down his face.

"Don't worry; it's okay."

Dani tries to sound reassuring, even as the song sets her on edge.

"Yeah. It's totally not your fault. Can you walk? Do you need us to get you out of here?"

[zodiac_rabbit]

Momiji looks between Enzo and Dani. "Um, could you give me a hug?". He is looking at Dani as he speaks.

The singing is louder now, and there's a malevolent undercurrent to the tune.
They're coming for you.

Dani blinks in surprise.

"Why?"

[zodiac_rabbit]

Momiji looks into the darkness, then back at Dani. "I don't think I can move far right now, but um, it is weird, and easier to show you."

Before the singers arrive.

[ami_imperfect]

"Well...okay."

Dani approaches Momiji then, with a confused/apologetic look at Enzo, puts her arms around the blond boy being sure to be careful of his injuries.

Enzo shrugs back at her. It doesn't sound like Momiji's trying to move in on his woman, and he can't really blame him for wanting a hug under the circumstances.

And all becomes clear as Dani is no longer holding a boy, but a yellow haired rabbit.

The white-haired girl blinks in surprise at the transformation.

"What the- Momiji?!"

"Dude! That... explains more than it should."

[zodiac_rabbit]

"I would've told you... but the curse is a big secret. But I wasn't much use."

The song sounds even louder in his bigger ears. And even meaner.

"Long story short- I change whenever I get sick, or when a female hugs me. And I can't control it at all. Sorry if I sounded like I was hitting on, um.."

Actually, Momiji isn't quite sure what Dani is.

"I'm Momiji." Time for an introduction. Well, as long a one as time allows for. That singing is getting closer.

"I'm Dani; I'm Enzo's girlfriend." Not to mention relieved that Momiji can still talk when he's in this form; she was worried that they were going to have to try and decipher nose twitches or something. "And I think you're forgiven in this case."

"Now let's get out of here." Because that singing is getting way too close for her comfort.

Rabbits have a surprising amount of body language, but this is not the time for a crash course.

"Yeah, it's cool. This time," he adds with mock-sternness. "You need carrying?"
