Hunting Slenderman

In the mist and fog and silence, there is a cave. There is darkness within darkness there and nothing more and the faint whiff of something ... not right.
But there's a drawing stuck to the rocks that frame the opening, a childish grouping of trees and a tall, thin man, with the words TAMAN SHUD.
Here is the end.
"I think we should go here," says Jack.

Bucky's eyes are closed, but he rasps something urgent-sounding under his breath.
... it's probably a good sign that he's able to draw air enough to breathe, at that.

But, he was just... gone.
He shakes himself, and looks over to Steve. He seems to be doing alright, so Momiji looks around. Maybe there was someone else he can help?
His eyes fall on the huddled bleeding person. Slowly, Momiji moves slowly towards him and kneels down. "Are you okay?"

After a moment he shakes himself and, like Momiji, gravitates toward the person most in needs of assistance.
"I know first aid..."
Looks like a bit more than that will be needed, though.

Momiji is looking closely at the wound, and his eyes get bigger.
"I don't think Mr. Creepy did this... this looks like a gun wound."

Ambriel wrenches at the chocolate, breaking it in two over Bucky's chest with a snap. Next is freeing his right arm.

His eyes are still closed when his right hand lashes out, reaching blindly for a target.

Asami keeps a small distance so as to avoid being struck, and shines her flashlight on his chest, away from his eyes.
Her voice calm again (after that finale, even she needed a moment of recovery), "Hey, it's okay."

Well. Mostly. Ambriel tears off another block of chocolate, cracking it down Bucky's right side and loosing him down to the right knee.

("James Barnes. Bucky. I give you--")
Bucky blinks, then blinks again, clearing the last of the cocoa dust from his eyes, and looks around at the three of them.
"... this is getting to be a habit."
His voice is hoarse yet, but his words are clear.

She glances at Steve. Asami has to say, this has all been pretty much brand new to her.
Flashing her light around to give Bucky a better view of his surroundings, "This happens to you a lot?"

Maybe not just like this.
"I promised to give you protection, and I failed." Ambriel carefully frees his other leg.
no subject
"I hope not a lot," he says, wryly. "Twice is plenty, thanks."
Ambriel's observation gets his attention fast, though.
"Hey. Not from where I'm sitting, you didn't."
He sounds sincere about it, too.
"I'm still alive, aren't I?"
no subject
(He seems less strange than the guy from earlier, anyway.)
"Looks like it," she answers, flashing the light back to him.
"That - tree god? - is gone."
Beat. "The one who was doing all this."
Not the good one!
no subject
"Can you walk?"
He can carry Bucky, and will if needed.
no subject
"The Slenderman is gone. His influence over this place has ended."
Pause.
"We should leave. Just in case."
no subject
"But leaving -- yeah, let's do that. Get me on my feet, and sure, I can walk."
Or at least, he's stubborn enough to try.
"Smart of you to bring a light," he tells Asami.
no subject
"I don't think bringing a weapon would've helped me much," she answers, with a small shrug.
